Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. is a manufacturer, processor, wholesale distributor, and retailer of the World's Best Gummi's, Gold Label Chocolates, Premium Nuts, and other confections. Albanese Confectionery Group is located in Northwest Indiana, with facilities in Merrillville and Hobart. The company was founded in 1983 by Scott Albanese, his wife, Debbie, and his parents, Richard and Dorothy Albanese. It all began as a small, family-owned candy store in Merrillville. To grow the company, the company expanded into wholesale distribution. "The secret to retail," explains Scott Albanese, "is backdoor sales." In the following years, it was to further expand by adding capacity and equipment to process nutmeats, and then began manufacturing its own line of Gold Label chocolate confections. A passion for quality and a growing reputation to match allowed for steady growth through business-to-business referrals and satisfied customers. In 1997, Albanese embarked upon the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Hobart, Indiana and entered the gummi candy market. Applying its expertise to gummis, the efforts of Albanese resulted in several innovations. 1st Innovation (1998): Through formulation and new technology, we were able to achieve a dramatic breakthrough in the flavor release of gelatin articles - technically thought impossible. 2nd Innovation (2001): Technical breakthrough allowed for a dramatically more sour gelatin product by placing the sour inside the piece - technically thought impossible. 3rd Innovation (2002): Innovation in gummi concepts resulted in winning Professional Candy Buyer's Product of the Year Award in the Non-Chocolate Category. 4th Innovation (2003): Brought back old style, antique, highest quality rotogravure printing to complement our world class gummi candy.
