A Stir-Fried Tale --
CUT SLEEVE
BOYS is a witty and provocative journey of self-discovery written
and directed by Ray Yeung, director of the Hong Kong Gay &
Lesbian Film Festival Society. Set to be released on DVD later
this month, CSB is a story about Mel (Steve Lim) and Ash (Chowee
Lee), two British Chinese gay men who live, work, and play in
London. Mel, an aging scene queen with the ego of Norma Desmond,
believes life is a beauty pageant with him always the winner,
while Ash is tired of the jaded gay scene where steroid bodies
and dieting are the only offerings on the menu. After attending
the funeral of Gavin, a closet case from their university days,
Mel and Ash start examining the crow's feet on their faces and
questioning the meaning of the labels in their wardrobes. Through
a series of wild parties and encounters with outrageous transsexuals
and hot guys, these friends learn about love and what's really
important in life.
