Bartender Flashback --
While this issue of Boi celebrates present-day bartenders who serve their customers so very ably, I'd like to take a quick moment to recall the astounding talents of my favorite bartender of all-time. Long-haired Tony from the late 1980s and early 1990s of Berlin Nightclub was a true "star-tender" who fixed me up every time with a stiff Jack Daniels and Coke, guaranteeing a healthy tip from me and my devoted loyalty as a customer whenever I was in there. And I was in Berlin a lot back in those good ole days. So to Tony, wherever you may be, thanks for the great service and for being such an excellent bartender to me.

Summer Vacation With A Mouse and The Tribe --
I know it may seem way too early to talk about events happening next summer, but when the event has the magnitude that Gays Days Orlando has, I feel it necessary to share info that may be wanted by many of you. So get your 2007 travel and vacation calendars out and plan accordingly as the next Gays Days is scheduled for May 29 June 3, 2007. So much more than just a "circuit party" in my opinion, Gay Days really is a great "gathering of the tribe" experience for the entire LGBT community. Throughout the weekend there are tons of activities at the Disney and Universal Studios theme parks, dance parties galore with varying styles of music to please diverse tastes, and plenty of entertainment, cultural and political events.

For those of you focused in on the serious partying aspect of Gay Days, here's the 4-1-1 on the featured DJs headlining the One Mighty Weekend dance events: Alyson Calagna, Peter Rauhofer, Roland Belmares, and Manny Lehman are on tap for the prime-time main events while David Knapp, Abel, and Tony Moran will be handling Magic Journey after-hours duties at Arabian Nights. The Reunion Pool Parties will be guided by DJs Don Bishop, Brett Henrichsen, and Kimberly S.

Cold Weather Grooves --
One of my favorite record labels Om Records has just released a continuously mixed CD featuring one of my all-time favorite house music DJs: Chicago's one and only Johnny Fiasco. The double CD set, called Om: Winter Sessions - is chock full of funky and chunky house music goodies with DJ Justin Martin soulfully guiding CD1 and Fiasco in obvious complete aural and jack rhythmic control of CD2. Utilizing their own tracks as well as those by the likes of Andy Caldwell, Jacob London, and Soul Avengers, both Fiasco and Martin have programmed mixes that will not only keep those in cold climates warm during winter months, but produce smiles on faces worldwide. This is a fantastic release from Om!

'Tis The Season --
Wondering what holiday-themed CD to get for yourself or as gifts for others this coming Christmas? Well, look no further than the new Sarah McLachlan offering, Wintersong (Arista Recoprds). This 12-track CD is the first ever holiday album for the 3-time Grammy winning artist and starts off impressively with a cover of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" and the traditionally classic "What Child Is This (Greensleeves)." McLachlan offers up other standards such as "Silent Night," and "I'll Be Home For Christmas" with that voice of hers sounding as strong and as beautiful as ever
