Come mid-November 2006 over in Wicker Park you'll soon be hearing that often repeated phrase: "What's old is new again!" The "new" is Ohm Nightclub, a dynamic
11,000 square foot venue scheduled to open its doors on November 17th. The "old" is in reference to the legendary Red Dog nightclub space that Ohm will occupy at the intersection of Damen, Milwaukee, and North Avenues on the city's westside.
The much anticipated opening of Ohm is sure to yet again transform the Wicker Park Bucktown nightlife scene, bringing additional spark and vitality to the neighborhood. The club will cater to clubbers with 5 bars and 2 distinct musical environments, including the main room with its 6,000 square foot dance floor.
Ohm will bring an unparalleled big room option to this Westside entertainment epicenter with design features such as loft ceilings, treated brick walls, and stained glass windows. The club will boast a state-of-the-art sound system and a spectacular DJ booth designed in cooperation with New York legend Little Louie Vega and Chicago's Mark Grant. Additional sophisticated touches include bars with oak and
mahogany finishes as well as stylish marble restrooms.
The secondary room at Ohm will be called the Bridge. As a separate entity, the Bridge is a seductive room featuring a sensational specialty drink and champagne menu and its own DJ.While the musical direction of Ohm will touch on varying genres of electronic music, it intends to find its roots in Chicago House music. Globe-trotting guest DJs will join the stellar line-up of local residents to include Michael Serafini, Diz, Jesse De La Peña, and Andre Harris. On the Bridge, tech house will be the predominate sound on Wednesday nights while the musical direction on Fridays and Saturdays will vary from Electro to club favorites.
Ohm's management and marketing team has strong Chicago ties and is led by Joey (Just Joey) Swanson and Arman Razavi, who both co-promote Monday night's Boom Boom Room at Green Dolphin. They intend to put their 30 years of combined experience at work to make sure that Ohm turns into yet another legendary Chicago nightclubbing destination.
Hours: Wednesdays thru Fridays 9pm -4am, Saturdays 9pm-5am
