
Well Thunder storms in November, and 70 degree weather, this only tells me that we are in for a hell of a winter. But that doesn't keep us from bringing you the most up-to-date and interesting information to you. Last issue I mentioned that I was doing an interview with "The Ditty Bops". Well, I was lucky enough to see them at the Vic Theater on the 26th, and I hope you were too; they were Fabulous and gave quite a show. See their interview in this issue!
Well for the first time in many years the Chicago White Sox won the
World Series. It's not really customary for your stereotypical gay male to watch sports, however, I found myself actually watching and enjoying the World Series. Of course watching a man grab his crotch and spitting has always been kind of a turn on to me anyway, but a great big Congratulations and a Job Well Done! If you didn't get a chance to get to New York to see "Rent", now you can see it in the theaters. Warner Brothers Records has announced the release of the "Rent Original Motion Picture
Soundtrack" featuring music from the forthcoming multi-Tony winning smash Broadway musical. One of the most influential and enduring productions in theater history, Rent was written by Jonathan Larson and based on Puccini's immortal opera La Boheme. It tells the story of a group of free spirited artists living and loving in New York's east Village in the midst of the AIDS epidemic. The film version is produced by among others, Robert DeNiro for Revolution Studios and directed by Chris Columbus of Harry Potter and Mrs. Doubtfire renown and is scheduled to be released on Nov. 23rd.
Hell in a Handbag Productions is going to Hell in a handbag again. This year those wacky gangs of devilish elves are back this holiday season with, the Chicago premiere of Judy's Scary Little Christmas. The year is 1959, and Judy Garland has gathered a bevy of her celebrity friends to join her in celebrating the holiday season on her comeback television variety special. Things take a twisted turn when a mysterious guest crashes the party taking one and all on a mystical journey beyond legends and legacies. Featuring original music and lyrics by Joe Patrick Ward and a book by James Webber and David Church, Judy's Scary Little Christmas is a fantastic trip to the bygone days of Hollywood.
