Mark Your
Calendars -- On Saturday, September 15, the friskiness continues as JACKHAMMER hosts its monthly "Underwear Party". On the same night two doors away, there's a triple header at TOUCHÉ: a "Foot Friends Party" 6pm-10pm; "Hot Ash Cigar Smoker" @ 10pm; and "Gear Fetish Night" for those who get excited by leather, rubber, boots, uniforms, and sports gear. There will be even more house music than usual in the city this weekend with the "History of House Music Concert & Dance Party" at the CONGRESS THEATER on Saturday, September 15 @ 7pm. The event features true pioneers and superstars of the genre, including Farley Jackmaster Funk, Ron Carroll, Maurice Joshua, Shawn Christopher, Lego, Roy Davis, Jr., Fast Eddie, and Steve "Silk" Hurley. That night at SMART BAR, the one and only Kaskade, who was inspired by many of the legends who'll be at the Congress, demonstrates his modern day greatness. The A/X - ARMANI EXCHANGE "Chicago DJ Series" continues with Saturday afternoon live in-store DJ sets, 2pm-8pm on September 15 (DJ Ron G) and September 22 (DJ Teri Bristol). OTDL has been
retired and so now Clubhouse & Smooth Productions are launching
"Penthouse
Sundays" at
CLUB 720 on Sunday nights, 11pm-4am,
featuring DJs Anton & Kenae spinning House, Hip-Hop, and
Reggaeton. The Grand Opening is September 16 with a VIP Reception
@ 11pm. On Monday, September 17, House of Tut and Clubhouse
present "Turn-A-Bout:
Show & Dance Party" at CIRCUIT. The party starts at
10pm with the show midnight. Grab your boots and hat and rush to the "Cowboy Rage" every Friday night at CLUB CHESTERFIELD with the midnight drag show featuring Yamileth and El Famoso Pancho. Every Sunday night this southside Latin gay bar serves up tasty drink specials with DJ Javier spinning the latest cumbia, salsa, and meringue music. Move &
Groove -- Monday nights continue to be ruled by "Boom Boom Room" at GREEN DOLPHIN STREET. On September 17 DJ Frique joins resident DJs Michael Serafini, Diz, Uncle Milty and JustJoey while the Dean of Deep House, Marquess Wyatt of Los Angeles, makes a visit on September 24. In Lakeview, DJ Plez supplies a groovy house beat to eat and drink by during "Pride Night" @ CESAR'S ON BROADWAY. The music starts up at 7pm. HYDRATE's impressive September line-up includes
resident DJ Greg Drescher on Thursdays and with guest appearances
by Miami's Tracy Young (September 14), L.A. tribal master Paulo
(September 15), and DJ Brett Henrichsen (September 22). Other nightspots featuring DJs includes MINIBAR|WINEBAR with DJ Oskar on Fridays and Sundays and BOBBY LOVES on Saturdays with DJ TimA. Out in the suburbs, HUNTERS has DJ Ron G on Wednesdays and DJ Laura B on Saturdays. Down in the south burbs, THE EDGE BAR has DJ Rockin' RC on Fridays and DJ Pervy on Saturdays. In Andersonville, MARY'S ATTIC has fast become a festive nightspot on weekends with DJ Shoshanna's eclectic mix on Fridays and DJ Boom's dance sets on Saturdays. Across the street is @MOSPHERE with DJ Timmy Loop and male strippers on Saturdays. In South Andersonville, real leather men gather at THE EAGLE for lots of fun and very few games. MAN'S COUNTRY packs them in on weekends for the all-nude stripper shows: Friday, September 14 w/ Kevin, Ricky Sinz, Jimmy D and Milan; Saturday, September 15 w/ Jovanni, Don Juan,AJ and Sean Taylor; Friday, September 21 w/ Kurtis, Giorgio, Dimitri and Valentine; and Saturday, September 22 w/ Martin, Marlone, and Maddux. Boystown Central
& Beyond - The video bar SIDETRACK offers up their legendary frozen slushy drink concoctions during "Showtunes" night on Mondays (8pm-2am), "Comedy" night on Thursdays (8pm-2am) and "Hi-NRG" night on Saturdays (9pm-3am). Whether looking for a hook-up or a friendly conversation, LITTLE JIM'S and BUCK'S SALOON are two Boystown institutions not to be missed. Further south in the heart of trendy Lincoln Park, the MANHANDLER SALOON is a delightfully fun undercover oasis. For those working, shopping, or residing downtown THE SECOND STORY BAR and GENTRY ON STATE are popular options. Both spots boast large crowds on Fridays for TGIF cocktails. As the nights progress Second Story transforms into a neighborhood bar while Gentry is more of a destination for folks coming from near or far to enjoy the high quality cabaret acts that are presented. Speaking of cabaret acts, you can find fantastic shows at DAVENPORT'S in Wicker Park and 3160 in Lakeview. As Loyola and Northwestern students return to school, there are several places that should experience a youthful surge of energy this month. Northside neighborhood bars BIG CHICKS and GRANVILLE ANVIL will be vigilantly checking IDs given their close proximities to the campuses. And expect lots of drama majors and their "girlfriends" to head toward the alternative atmosphere at BERLIN on Fridays for "Cosmix" with DJ Greg Haus and on Saturdays for "Twisted" with DJs Larissa and Chester. At KIT KAT LOUNGE &
SUPPER CLUB the
alcohol flows freely and cheaply with _-price martinis on Sundays
and Tuesdays. |
