Well, with summer winding down to an end this column is going to focus of fast cars and beautiful women or is it the other way around?

There is plenty of information about the top ten cars and hybrids, where your gas money goes and why gas is so expensive. These are all interesting things but what good is having a car if you don't have some great tunes to listen to when you're in it?

I mentioned that Dolly Parton had a new CD coming out. Her new album "Those were the Days" on Sugar Hill Records will be released on October 11th. With all due respect to my elders, who sang these songs to me when they babysat me, it was such a joy to hear these songs again. "Those Were the Days" pairs Dolly's Bluegrass signature style with her favorite songs from the 60's and 70's that helped define and era. She also brings with her a clan of musician friends who contribute both vocally and instrumentally. This CD is so refreshing and a classic for the Dolly collector.

Another Diva offering is the one and only Barbara Streisand celebrating "Guilty Pleasures". Re-teaming with Barry Gibb, the first time in 25 years since the release of the multi-platinum collaboration non Guilty. This CD contains 11 unforgettable songs composed by Barry including the first single "Stranger in a Strange Land" and "Come Tomorrow," a duet with Barbara and Barry. Makes me swoon! Rush right out and get it!

One last musical item is a new CD from Jamiroquai called "Dynamite". And that it is. It has been four years since his last multi-platinum seller "A Funk Odyssey", and now he has returned with "Dynamite". This CD is very diverse for Jamiroquai, featuring everything from funk driven rock to laid back summer sizzlers. This multi-flavored album was written and recorded all over the world in a variety of locales, including Spain, Italy, NY, LA, and England. Jamiroquai will spend the summer touring Europw before coming to the stated later in the year.

I hope everyone got a chance to see "Transgeneration" on September 20th on the Sundance Channel. In this eight-part original documentary series, filmmaker Jeremy Simmons follows a year in the lives of four transgender students as they define who they are and take control of their gender identity. Gabbie and Raci (born male, but now living as women) and Lucas and T.J. (born female, but now living as men) attend different campuses and come from varied social backgrounds, yet are all about to experience a pivotal moment in their lives. Check your local listings, this is a great Sundance Doc.
