Well everyone, this will be my last segment of Drama on the Dance floor for a while. I am taking on several new responsibilities that will be requiring more of my time. I will still be submitting reviews on a regular basis to keep my club kids aware of what's cute on the dance scene. Don't think of this as "good bye" but more of a "smell ya later". First up is Yug & the Soul Providers with "Nobody Knows" on Elan Records. I don't know who YUG is, but her delivery on this house track is groovy and fun. Venus Hum gives us Soul Sloshing on Geffin Records this month with slice and dice by Thick Dick and the Passengers. Frankie J delivers "I Don't Wanna Try" on Sony music with Al B Rich doing the touch up in dub and remix. Curb Records releases Laura Turner's cut "Soul Deep" this month with re-mixes by Progressive Trance heavyweights Dave Aude and Riva. On King Street records we get a treat from the Ananda Project called Can You Find the Heart. Rui Da Silva and Rob Rives hit the deeper mixes on this track. From the files of 'nothing is sacred' comes Nina Simone with "Sinnerman". Yes, it's not a typ-o or a joke.......Felix Da Housecat actually took Nina's live version of this song from 1965 and put his techy House re-mixing over it. The results? - Well, like I said, nothing is sacred anymore.

The HouseKeeperz featuring Ceevox have finally released "Workin'" on Harlquin Records. This is going to be the next club anthem with mixes by Dirty Laundry (Circuit newcomer Allison Calagna & Barry Huffine) and Tribal Tool (Ceevox herself). Check this one out for sure. New on Stereo Records from Spain are Richie Santana's "Drum Control" and Chus's "We Play House". Richie's track is tribal darkness while Chus' track is tribal but with a housy feel to it. While on the Tribal tip, watch for D: Formation's cut "Signs and Portents" on Beatfreek records. BF's Tribal mix is da shit! From the Undergound Sounds of Madrid comes "The Percussive Adventure" by Sergio Fernandez. Very cute and dark for the fisting crowd. Alternative Route Records this month releases "J'Adore" with Peter Bailey and Mike Macaluso Mixes. Anne Nesby delivers the long anticipated hype re-mixes of "Shelter" on It's Time Child records. Boris & Beck deliver a dub that is simply sickening. Pink features William Orbit on her new Columbia release "Feel Good Time." Boris & Beck deliver again on this cut from the Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle soundtrack. Following up "The Wreckoning", Boomkat delivers "What You Do To Me" this month on Dreamworks records. Thick Dick and Strobelite give cute interpretations for the ear pallet. And lastly for the progressive fans, Seroya delivers "Only Your Love" on Shinichi (the Yoshitoshi off-shoot label). Onto Reviews:

Singles:
Seal's new track "Get It Together" on Warner Brothers promises to be his next #1 hit. On the progressive end, Superchumbo and Bill Hammel deliver mixes and dubs that are awe-inspiring with Chumbo's techy feel and Hammels synth-lined ditty. Peter Rauhofer weighs in with a sweet "classic mix" that also works the crowd evenly. A definite must have. A +. -CE

David Gahan's (Depeche Mode) follow up to Dirty Sticky Floors is a cute cut called "I Need You" on Reprise Records. Gahan keeps to his pseudo industrial feel in his music by featuring Gabriel & Dresden to rework this latest release. They succeed at a sound that isn't quite progressive or trance. It's pure Gahan as the Depeche voice......a voice that works this track in a sickening manner. The flip-side features a lounge mix by Jay Jay of the West Coast house crew that is also deserving of praise. - CE

"Do you remember our trip to Paradise?" This is the opening lyric to Amuka's "Appreciate Me" on Star 69 Records. The sound for which 69 is signature definitely comes out in this limited double release. Peter Rauhofer delivers a deep and dark mix & dub on the first press that are true to his sexy style. #2 gives us Al B.Rich and the original re-mix by Airmail. The Airmail mix has been pounding Chicago dance-floors with much progressive fair. Definite chart material for Star 69. - CE

Loftis IV brings us four deeply smooth mixes of "You Are All I Need" on Loftwerk Records. The Loftis Vocal transports you to a smoky jazz lounge: a sweetly muted trumpet cries against deep house beats. Tourchsong vocals gently float through the groove. On the flipside, a dash of happy keys and a jazzy bass guitar take the mix to a happier level in the Joe Smooth Vocal. Offering you the choice of dubs for both mixes, this record has something for every set.-Peter Mavrik

Compilations:
Space 34 in Miami hosts some of Miami's top underground and progressive DJ's. One of these shining stars is DJ Roland. Harlequin Records has just released his latest compilation called "Lunar Sessions". Combining Euro-progressive darkness with Miami Tribal sounds, Roland let's us have it with Ad Finem's "Angel", Semi's "Hetero Sapiens" and Adele Holness's "Who Am I". Miami's underground music is unique and this release exemplifies it. Another fun Crisco and plastic glove moment brought forth by one of Miami's best. - CE
