Encore Lunch Club & Liquid Lounge
171 W. Randolph Street (The Loop)

Lunch Mon - Fri: 11am-3pm
Bar Mon - Fri: 3pm-1am; Sat: 4pm-1am

Encore offers theatergoers, shoppers and downtown Chicago Loop workers another option: a trendy weekday lunch place, an easy evening spot and a post-theater watering hole, located in the middle of it all. Thriving on a dual personality, Encore by day is a high-energy, fast-paced lunch spot catering to the locals with a satisfying menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and low-carb options. They focus on fresh, high quality fare as well as fast and efficient service in order to take the stress out of leaving the office for lunch; the goal is for their midday meal to only take half your lunch hour!

By night, Encore puts the emphasis on the "Liquid Lounge" portion of their name and becomes a spot to relax and unwind after work or before the theater or the movies. They offer mouthwatering cocktail cuisine (including Habanero-orange Marinated Duck Quesadillas with Mango Salsa, Grilled Filet Mignon Tacos, or Coconut Shrimp and Thai Chicken Sticks with Plum and Peanut Dipping Sauces) that pairs perfectly with their signature cocktail menu. Sixteen martinis top this list, including the Chocolate Russian (Stoli vodka, Dark and White Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, with a chocolate powder rim) and the Hot & Dirty (Bombay Sapphire Gin, Dry Vermouth, with a touch of Tabasco and Olive Brine).

While Encore's cocktails and kicked-up bar food may be all you need, there is one more guilty pleasure in which you may also want to partake: a really good cigar. Encore offers best sellers such as Artudo Fuente, Dunhill and Cohiba Red Dot and every month features a few select choices, such as Bolivar Library Edition and Punch Library Edition. Available for purchase individually, cigar prices range from $10 to $17.

For those who want to participate in BAR AIDS directly after they check out of their downtown office, Liquid Lounge's location (adjacent to the Hotel Allegro Chicago and the Palace Theatre and right across the street from City Hall and the State Building) can't be beat. As well, if you have tickets for a show that night Liquid Lounge is only a few easy blocks from to the Schubert, Oriental, and Goodman Theatres, the Lyric Opera, and the Symphony Center.

Sun - Fri: 5pm-2am; Sat: 5pm-3am

Located in Chicago's West Loop, this classy lounge offers a special atmosphere with a unique kiva in the main room and an airy outdoor patio. Throughout the very comfortable space you'll find custom-made furniture to sit down on and walls featuring paintings by local artists. A Yamaha grand piano graces the stage toward the front of the club while the DJ booth is hidden in the rear of the room, the source of a wide range of groovy soulful beats. There's no official dance floor at REDkiva, but the hip crowds that gather here do get their personal and collective groove on with plenty of head-bobbing, shoulder-dipping, and hip-swaying throughout the night.

The extensive drink menu has a sizable selection of wine, including 14 sparklers, champagnes, and a dozen beers on tap. If a stiffer drink is what you prefer, then the signature REDkiva martini is not to be missed. It's a sweet and tart mix of Absolut peach vodka, cranberry juice and a lemon garnish.

If you're hungry as well as thirsty, REDkiva's kitchen serves up thin-crust pizzas that are perfect either for sharing or meeting the needs of a hungry-man. Margherita and prosciutto mushroom are just two of the wide-ranging varieties that will satisfy a broad range of tastes.

Sun - Fri: 5pm-2am; Sat: 5pm-2:30am

Located in the former location of the original Holiday Club in Wicker Park, Salud Tequila Lounge is a truly unique nightspot offering an incredible selection of tequilas. From Blanco to Reposado to Anejo, Salud carries only the finest tequilas that set them apart from the ordinary mixto tequilas many people are accustomed to. The extensive selection of over 75 premium 100% agave tequilas come from small artesanal producers tucked away in the highlands of Jalisco as well as from the industry giants of the town of Tequila.

In addition to tequila, Salud also offers full bar of premium liquor, tap and bottled beer, and wines. As well, there is a dinner menu that represents traditional Mexican cuisine while maintaining plates that are easy to share with friends or enjoy as a traditional appetizer or entrée.

The atmosphere at Salud is cool and comfortable with lots of floor space by the bar and plenty of table seating and velvety couches for more intimate mingling and conversation. During the summer, the sidewalk patio area is open and is the perfect setting for the high-quality tequilas, cool refreshing margaritas, and ceviche. DJs spin a pleasing mix of house music and Latin-infused techno beats for a trendy and hip crowd that very much represents the surrounding neighborhood.

Sun - Fri: 5pm-2am; Sat: 5pm-3am

With only an "S" on the awning to identify it, the Suite Lounge is an upscale 1,800-square-foot hotspot that is redefining luxury lounging in Chicago. The underground New York-styled venue is located in Old Town and features all the accessories you need for a classy lounge experience: champagnes, great wines, and a creative cocktail menu (try the whipped cream-topped Carrot Cake martini; it's divine). Suite Lounge has two fully stocked bars and numerous cocktail tables spread about the space, which sits nestled at the bottom of a flight of stairs and down a flagstone-lined alley. For those seeking a more intimate and secluded environment away from the masses, private curtained off suites are available complete with bottle service.

While the Suite Lounge attracts an upscale trendy crowd with plenty of beautiful people, it's far from stuffy or snooty, even with the private suites. The relaxed friendly vibe is derived directly from the owner and staff who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do and are happy to have you join in on the fun. The vibe at Suite Lounge is accented by an Ibiza-styled soundtrack and cool romantic touches: lighting that leans toward dim, votive candles, and a rose petal-strewn fountain.
