It's been a really
busy summer filled with numerous special events for Chicago's
LGBT community, beginning with International Mr. Leather (IML)
over Memorial Day weekend, the Pride Parade on the last day of
June and the just recently completed Gay Games last month.
As we enter the month of August, the fun times keep rolling along
as the 25th Market Days is the largest two-day street fair in the Midwest and total 2006 attendance figures are expected to exceed 250,000. The event spans a _-mile over six city blocks, has 17 entrance gates and features a vast array of unique food and arts and crafts vendors. These vendors - more than 400 on average - come to Halsted Street from around the city as well as from across the country in order to show and sell their unique wares to the huge crowds. In addition to the ample opportunities to eat, drink, and shop, Market Days also has extensive entertainment offerings, including three live music stages with more than 40 musical acts performing. Additionally, there will be dance music pumping out onto the street at the corners of Halsted & Buckingham and at Hlasted & Cornelia. 25th Annual Northalsted Market Days Dates: Saturday,
