So many great performers are featured this year we thought we'd spotlight someone we haven't done before. Danny Tenaglia (born March 7, 1961) is a New York-based DJ and music producer. Some of his fans claim he invented and pioneered the "progressive garage" sound. Tenaglia's tracks and remixes use a blend of progressive, tribal and hard house sounds. Although he has released tracks on a variety of labels, he is more associated with Tribal America and Twisted. His track "Elements" was a Billboard #1 for three weeks in 1998. His 2006 follow-up single "Dibiza" is now out.
Danny Tenaglia has held several important residencies, including stints at Twilo, Tunnel, and Arc (formerly Vinyl), both located in New York City. His 'Be Yourself' residency at Arc (which during the existence of the 'Be Yourself' parties was called Vinyl Fridays) won two Dancestar awards.
The long running "Be Yourself" party at Vinyl (which then became Arc) ran from 1999-2004. During this time Danny released several remixes and productions, including "B" by DATAR (Danny and Tarentella and Redanka), "Finally" by the Kings of Tomorrow, "Lady" by Modjo and Danny's Labour of Love remix of Depeche Mode's "I Feel Loved," which earned him a Grammy Award nomination in 2002.
