Georgie Porgie is talent that does it all. He is a singer songwriter, a recording artist, a record producer, and one of the hottest dance-music remixers to emanate out of Chicago. This multi-talented international recording star, with deep soulful chops, an ear for a pulsating beat, is the real deal! Georgie's up-lifting songs of love, life, and strength reflect the hopes and dreams of many in which he translates so eloquently through his gift of music. Boi Magazine had a chance to talk with this dance music-recording mogul, and here's what he had to say.

Your new album "Love Life & Be Happy" just hit the stores on July 12th; please tell us more about it? Who produced the music, and wrote the material?
Terry Hunter, Glenn Friscia and Frank Lamboy where a few that co-produced certain titles on this album, I have been blessed to write and produce my own material. What makes the production come together is when you surround yourself with great people who influence you for greater thoughts and styles. People who have done that for me on this album are James Edward III, Mike Cruz, Teri Bristol, and obviously the people who co produced the different tracks.

The new single "Sunshine" off your album is getting massive attention; it's like #15 on the Billboard Magazine Charts and climbing. Do you think this will be your biggest hit to date?
I think it will be another big one for me! I also believe that each song is incredible in its own way, it touches different audiences
in different markets around the world! The key thing is the message in the music!

When singles are released these days, it great to hear that record label executives are giving the public a variety of different styles of remixes to enjoy. Your thoughts?
I think it is very important in order to reach the masses since dance music has different styles within our own genre. With a lack of radio in the US, remixes become a great tool to get your music out there.

From a recording artist point of view what has been your career's highlight moment?
It would have to be when Mayor of New York invited me to perform "Love Is Gonna Save The Day" in the Columbus day parade after 9/11. To watch the city come alive as my float whet down the street and as I sang the song... hearing the anchors at NBC say that Pop/ Dance artist Georgie Porgie has brought life back to the city was amazing!!!

Music Plant Records has been going strong now for over 10 years. What keeps you motivated?
The Love for the Music!!!! I still love writing a song and watching how it touches people...As long as that feeling remains so will I!

What other releases from Music Plant Records should we look out for?
There are so many coming out right now..new Georgie Porgie with Joi Cardwell duet,( Which is on the Mike Cruz double CD compilation "Arrival") new Teri Bristol, Tod Miner, Anthony Lamonte, Terry Hunter, Rachel Panay, Sisaundra, Mike Cruz feat. Nayobe and Friscia & Lamboy to name a few....

Also, what other remix projects are you working on right now?
I Just finished the new Rachael Panay "I Still Believe", Sisaundra "Shout", Anthony Lamont " Oh Really"

Is there anything else you would like our reader's to know?
