Apparently, the Queen has gone and got herself a iPod. Obviously, she didn't pop down to Harrods, but instead sent some flunkey along to purchase the player for her. By all accounts it's the silver iPod mini. Presumably it had to be the silver since the more regal gold one's not available anymore. The 79 year old monarch is apparently already grooving to the delights of Queen and The Korgis and is rumored to be so pleased with her purchase that the gadget may get the royal crest of approval. Apple's Brit designer Jonathan Ives is even being tipped for a knighthood.
Bit of a gadget girl, and quite possibly a DIGITALWATCH reader, the Queen already has a cell phone, which she uses to text her grandchildren and "Buck House" is rumored to have some pretty first rate hi-fi equipment.WHAT tracks do you reckon the Queen has got on her iPod?

You love your iPod. You really do. It is more than just your music player it is well, your bestest friend. And wouldn't you like to be able to play with your little buddy, and I don't just mean twiddling his scroll wheel or tickling his select button?
Now's your chance as bonkers company Speck has come up with iGuy, a bendy plastic casing for your iPod with arms and legs that turns him into a toy. Should you get the urge you can bend iGuy's arms and legs, hang things from him, and err, that's about it. There's currently a model for the standard sized iPods, but a mini is apparently on its way later. It's yours for $34.95.My Friend, iGuy
Bluetooth headsets for the iPod sound like a great idea in theory. In practice though they are often huge bulky things with limited battery power so for the moment we are quite prepared to put up with our mini white earbuds.
Still that hasn't stopped Wi-Gear. Its iMuffs stereo headphones have a neat USP though in that they work with both iPods and Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones. They have a battery life of a fairly reasonable twelve hours and while they are still pretty chunky they are smaller than some of their rival headsets. The range is 10m and supported protocols are Bluetooth 1.2 A2DP, AVRCP, Hands free and Headset. The iMuffs work with iPod photo, iPod mini, iPod 2G, 3G, 4G.

Vending machines: they're great aren't they? But if you thought that these machines could only dole out stale candy then you're about to be proven horribly wrong: looks like some sharp eyed tech geek in Atlanta has invented a vending machine dispensing not candy, but iPod shuffles and iPod minis, as well as other assorted gadgets. Payment isn't in coin, but more sensibly through credit card. Cool, but what happens if the things stick and don't drop down like they do in most vending machines?
