From Dance and Blues to Rock, Chicago's June 26 "Pride Fest"
To Be a Pre-Gay/Lesbian Parade Community Celebration

CHICAGO-June 3, 2004-Legendary Chicago dance diva Loleatta Holloway ("Love Sensation," "Hit and Run"), versatile dance/soul icon Linda Clifford ("If My Friends Could See Me Now") and Grammy-nominated Chicago blues artist Liz Mandville Greeson are among the artists scheduled to perform at "Pride Fest," a gay/lesbian community celebration on Saturday, June 26, on North Halsted St. between Waveland and Grace.
Held one day before the annual gay/lesbian Pride Parade, Pride Fest is sponsored by the Northalsted Area Merchants Association. Suggested gate donation is $5. Hours are Noon-9:00 p.m.
Among the others scheduled to perform at Pride Fest are: Chicagoan Suzanne Palmer (dance/electonica); alternative rocker Kimi Hayes; and Zelma Davis, a lead singer with the popular '90s New York dance act C + C Music Factory.
In addition to two stages, Pride Fest will feature food and arts & crafts vendors. The Pride Fest entertainment lineup (updates/more info at 773.868.3010 or www.chicagoevents.com) is:

Pride Fest, as well as the following day's Pride Parade, cap off a month of GLBT activities and events during Pride Month, which is celebrated each June. NAMA also sponsors Northalsted Market Days, the Midwest's largest annual two-day outdoor street festival that draws visitors from around the globe. This year's Market Days-now celebrating its 23rd year-will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 7-8.
