Vocalist Noa Tylo believes that attraction is based on energy, not sexuality. "Every new relationship offers an opportunity for rebirth and re-invention," he says.
BORN AGAIN VIRGIN, his new album, provocatively reflects his rather unorthodox beliefs on sexuality. "I laid bare my fantasies, my hopes, my fears and my faith in the album. It's about lust, love, losses and gains."It's also about sexual rebellion and liberalism, two major themes for this weekend's festivities.
Boi Magazine proudly introduces South African native Noa Tylo, our choice for this year's International Mr. Leather.Does leather turn you on?
There's something very raw and masculine about leather, the way it molds
around your body, skin to skin. You just can't help but feel sexy in it.What has been your hottest experience with leather?
I once tied someone up with leather straps, and while we were being watched,
I worked my way up, dripping hot candle wax and cooling it off with blocks of ice.Do you prefer to be tied or to tie someone else?
I like to be the one in control. Why do men love leather?
For me, leather is primal. Brings me back to when things were all
about hunting, eating, sleeping and having sex.Have you incorporated leather into your act?
Part of my act is incorporates leather, chains, and a whole lot of skin.Do any of your songs delve into your leather experiences?
I have a song on my Born Again Virgin album called "It's All About"
where I play around with the idea of S&M and bondage. You share a lot of personal experiences in your music.
I don't feel like I have anything to hide. I have nothing that I'm ashamed of. Any thought or emotion I've ever had, everyone else has had, even if it was just for a split second. I love being human, I love being emotional and I love being a man.How do you your lovers feel about you discussing your intimate moments?
Usually by the time I've recorded and released the song, we're no longer dating. I kind of thought it was a curse initially, but at least I get some songs out of it, so it's all good. What is your ultimate message with your songs?
It's okay to be curious, to experiment, to be insecure, to make mistakes, to cry, to desire, to feel, to want, to need, to love it's okay to be yourself. What's your next release?
I've just finished recording new tracks with producers Jimmy Greco (J-Lo, Carlos Santana) and Blake Althen (Rachel Panay). The songs are sexy and urban, yet still fresh and edgy. I'm shopping these to US labels right now.Are they available to listen to?
Yes, you can download the new tracks off my website.
