The event that draws the largest crowd each year is the Leather Market, which covers most every fetish element of the scene. It's no doubt the most popular feature of IML, which serves as the social and commercial center of the weekend.
The Market plays host to over 100 leather-related businesses eagerly
tempting leathermen with their latest products, clothing, accessories, dungeon equipment, toys, films, etc.
Many of the vendors and plenty of attendees don minimalist leather gear, and it was not uncommon to pass by guys demonstrating how restraint tables work, or testing out certain paddles and whips on eager participants.
It could be the one single place in the world where you could purchase a wooden dildo, a rubber suit, tit clamps or even a butt plug complete with horse tail.
Competitors for the International Mr. Bootblack competition have chairs set up in the mart for a nice firm thorough boot polishing.
The Leather Market is exciting, fun and educational. It's a great introduction for first timers and curiosity seekers.
Hosted at the Palmer House Hilton, located at 17 East Monroe Street in Chicago. The Market runs Memorial Day weekend from Friday, May 25th through Monday, May 28th, 2007
It's open to the public, however, a day pass is required to enter the Leather Market. There is a $3.00 suggested donation with all proceeds going to the Leather Archives and Museum.
