Cocktail is celebrating their 9th Anniversary coming up on Wednesday May 11th, and with no doubt has definitely made its mark here in Boys-Town. Featuring some of the best DJ's in Chicago, along with their packed "Spank" go-go boy nights, Cocktail is hands down the "In" lounge, with a multi-diverse crowd thats hip and cool! GeNo, the man behind this very popular Cocktail Lounge on Halsted Street took some time out from his busy schedule to chat with us Boi's to share his views, and highlights that Cocktail has in store for us in 2005.
Why do you think Cocktail draws such a mixed crowd?I believe that we have been lucky to be embraced by all members of the community. It is so nice to have such a diverse crowd that enjoys their Cocktail culture experience. We have always tried to make EVERYONE feel comfortable no matter what their orientation.

" I am proud to say this year will be our 9th year. It has gone by so quickly with so many great memories. On our anniversary we will have a mix of all our DJ's, great food, free cocktails and sexy go-go boys."Tell us more about your Anniversary!
"Beginning in May we will be starting our 2nd year of Beach Ball Sunday. DJ Tom McBride will spin up a storm. We hang about 100 beach balls from the ceiling and the bartenders only wear surfer shorts. We also have 6 different pitcher specials from $9 - $12With all the "mega" clubs coming about, do you think "the lounge" has lasting power?
"I think that the small more intimate clubs are coming to the fore front these days. Personally I think the day of the mega club has gone. That's just my opinion. I much prefer being able to have a great cocktail and intimate chat with people."It's refreshing to see that Cocktail has not fallen in that stereotype of what is expected on Halsted! your thought's?
"for starters, I have my Staff and friends to thank for that. We try to keep it as fresh and new as possible".Tell us about one of your most memorable nights at Cocktail?
"that is hard to say. What comes to mind was our opening night when we opened our doors with a string of lights made out of wire and light bulbs. We had to open because we advertised it. As The evening progressed, the electrician kept working, finally when he finished and our permanent lights went on, all the customers cheered. At that moment I was so happy."
