The Towle Community Theater Announces Open Auditions for "URINETOWN, the musical".

One of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years, "URINETOWN, the musical" is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, "URINETOWN, the musical" is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, "URINETOWN, the musical" catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit, and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.

Audition and Audition Workshop will be held at the Towle Community Theater-5205 Hohman AvenueHammond, IN. For more information call 219-937-8780.

In 2005, the cost of the U.S. government's war on drugs was estimated at $12 billion. But what has the "war" actually accomplished? Hilarious and irreverent, poignant and informative, THE WAR ON THE WAR ON DRUGS reveals that a propaganda-filled drug war is ultimately far more dangerous than the drugs it purports to fight.

The winner of the award for "Best Experimental Feature Film" at the New York Independent Film and Video Festival, this feature length festival favorite channels the anarchic spirit of its' '70s ancestors The Groove Tube and Kentucky Fried Movie and offers up a rapid-fire succession of skits and sketches with a unifying anti-authoritarian, pro-drug theme. Sure to open bleary eyes and induce plenty of laughs, THE WAR ON THE WAR ON DRUGS will be available on DVD for the first time.
