in good company
Dating, some of us like to cruise the bars, some of us like the baths and some the grocery store. Everywhere you look, there is the opportunity to meet a potential stranger and who knows what will happen? In Good Company, a gay owned matchmaking service can cut through the "red tape" of dating and hand pick your future soul mate! I was lucky enough to catch up with the great folks at In Good Company to ask them a few questions about how things work, just in case!!
How long has In Good Company been around?
In Good Company launched during Gay Pride Week in June of 2005. As we begin to wrap up our second year in business, we have grown bigger and faster than we had originally projected. Can anyone use this service?
We have amassed a wide range of clients since the Chicago office opened. At In Good Company, we accept all gays and lesbians as well as other members of the LGBT community who are looking to meet new people, as long as we have the type of people they are looking to meet. What can I expect from In Good Company?
In Good Company delivers to our clients a "level playing field" when it comes to meeting other gays and lesbians. Our clients know the type of people they're meeting beforehand, and can routinely expect us to take care of all the details regarding their introductions, making it fun and stress-free!How do I go about "putting myself out there"?
A lot of people think that Mr. or Mrs. Right is going to fall from the sky one day, knock on their door, and announce themselves! Making the decision to be proactive about your personal life is a big step, but a necessary one. IGC provides traditional matchmaking for lesbian and gay professionals in a discreet and comfortable setting; taking all the stress out of meeting new people. Members participate in a one-on-one interview with one of IGC's Directors/Matchmakers and are then matched with other members based on their criteria and the Director's insight.
Are my responses put into a computer?
Computers are not used in the matchmaking process; all matches are done by hand using the Director's insight and knowledge. What if I don't like the person selected for me?
While our matchmakers are very good at what they do and our clients are quality people, there may not be chemistry on one or both sides after all, no one can guarantee that sparks will fly. After every introduction, we ask our members to provide feedback on their introduction's within 24 hours. The purpose of the feedback is to ensure member satisfaction and to provide the matchmaker insight for future several introductions. What are you doing new this year?
We have a couple of new processes that we're implementing this year, such as improved client services, adding more member restaurants, and even opening up a sister company dedicated to helping transsexuals, men, and women meet each other in an upscale, professional atmosphere. Look for T-Date Chicago in the summer of 2007!
