"Style used to be an interaction between the human soul and tools that were limiting. In the digital era, it will have to come from the soul alone." Jaron Lanier

"Bling" is right! Complete with artificial jewels running up and down the sides, with a shiny chain and skull, there's definitely some glitz happening here -- although I'll let you decide if it's the good kind or the bad. Surprisingly, though, this decked-out little media player has some nice features on the inside, including a bigger than expected memory, a built-in microphone, and an FM tuner with recording.

And for only $200 the magic can be yours, although it's certainly not for the shy or the insecure! (Or the refined or the classical...)

NightCove is a new concept in "alarm" clocks that dispenses with all the severity of the traditional models. It is designed to maximize the benefit you get from sleeping by enhancing the quality of your sleep through a series of color-changing lights linked to the circadian rhythm. In short, it creates a relaxing environment to fall asleep in, gently wakes you up in the morning and fades in and out during the night to correspond with REM activity. It is fully programmable, even for naps, and can be synced with a computer to add mp3s or to another NightCove unit. Price: $2,323.

Is that a really fancy toaster, my companion asked when he saw this thing. Nope, not a toaster. This is the F80 a new project created with Ferrari and Meridian to be a luxury entertainment center. It can be hooked up to your iPod, play CDs or tune in to the radio. But its main purpose is to look good, expensively good. I recently traveled to the Silverstone Racing Circuit to check out this chic little boombox. It has 80 watts of power and comes in the five Ferrari colors of red, yellow, black, white and silver or if you are truly deep pocketed you can spring for the limited edition leather finish. The standard version sells for over $2,900 and the limited edition system costs $3,492.
