Totally digging on the local independent theater scene from last edition, RtVR headed down to the Live Bait on Clark to see what the Theatre Entropy Company was presenting. Initially formed to produce a show for the Columbus, Ohio Gay and Lesbian Fringe Festival in 2002, TE has been producing thought provoking and socially subversive works ever since. This run, we had the pleasure of viewing Len Jenkins award winning screen play, "Careless Love." Featuring gun shots, unseen drug lords, pineapple leaf lacerations, animated lounge acts and surgical face copying, this surrealistic tale took young performance poet Marie (played by Breahan Eve Pautsch) on an abducted whirlwind air ship ride of love and self discovery. Sort of It's really more complicated than that.

After our awesome time at The Hearts Foundations Fireball event downtown in Union Station's Great Hall, any chance to party over the Amtrak is something not to be missed, especially when there's free booze. This time we had to do it up a bit -- shirt and tie and all -- to welcome (scope out) our sister's from London as they launched their local weekly-what-to-do Time Out Guide here in the Windy City. Live music, live acts, cute appetizers, cuter bois, lights and libations, the place was filled with Chicago's absolute must knows. One of which was the gracious TO section editor Web Behrens. His show way rocked with his U.K. bohemian styled velvet blazer and wild long curly hair. And you know how Jason Paul is extremely partial to all things velvet and cheese. I like cheese too.

And I have to say once more in print, The Great Hall is just an awesome venue. Every time someone throws a party there, I'm going.

Yet we can't be partying all of the time, just most of it. Lest we get that pale sickly slept till 3 glazed over blood shot eye look -- And nobody likes that. So off we went for some low key, yet enlightening community culture at the Jane Adam's Hull House Art Center in Uptown. Till the end of the month they'll be featuring "Just Married," An exhibit of images taken by photojournalists during the 29 days San Francisco offered same-sex marriages. Good friend and Hull House Rep Louise Smith even made extra sure there would be cheese for me at the opening party! Love her!

The show comes off as hopeful and kind of sad but all together really something beautiful. It's worth a trip. And while you're there, why not take advantage of the many other programs and services Hull House has to offer? It's good times.

Now back to the Party bois and grrrls. After months of renovations, Halsted Street's largest dance club is back on the block and ready for action. Circuit has returned and brought a number of the coolest peoples together for a preview of what's to come before the doors officially opened March 12. The new look is mad crazy urban cool from what I hear. You'll have to check out Emilio's pics of the event on Chicagopride.com. Better yet, head over to the club and see for yourself.

Other things to look forward to is our own Daisy Mae's Peoria Party and Riding the Velvet Rope's Lounge Lag in a few short weeks to come. E-mail JPsVelvetRopes@aol.com for more details.

And don't forget to say hi if you see me.
