Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I've popped a music page together for the magazine, but I figured that now would be as good a time as any. So, what's new on the music front you ask? Chicago remixer/DJ/producer Alex Peace has been making waves in the house and progressive scene for a while. He has not taken on the task of running Chicago based label EsnTion- Forever Soul. This newbie label has just spawned 2 cuts from Mr. Ali & E-smoove appropriately called "Jam Sessions 1 and 2" along with Norty Cotto's tribal hitter "Let It Go". Kudos to Alex and company for giving us another cute reason to shake our asses.
Work has finally wrapped on Beyonce's "Naught Girl" mixes. Slice ups from Victor Calderone and Vince Lawrence should be making their way to an internet site near you any day now (GAG!)
Making major waves on floors across Halsted St. recently is the new Enrique Inglesias featuring Kelis track called "I'm Not In Love". Dave Aude and Minge Binge mixes are the ones for which to listen. Speaking of Minge Binge, did you know that M.B is the team of Juan Martinez and Peter Lorimer? Peter is the remix genium behind 29 Palms. He wears both hats with such ease that he is to be commended.
Remix team Full Intention has given us 2 new fierce remix projects this past month from George Michael and the Sugarbabes. George's "Amazing" was this past week club jumper on the club strip while "Hole in the Head" from da Babes is making waves in the straight clubs.
Mike Cruz has been busy lately. He's remixed tunes recently for Kristine W "Save My Soul" and Steve Cova "Gotta Be Me". Making a come back from the 90's and is singer Shay Jones with a couple of new track. Her tune "Me and You" supposedly is on the mixint block by some local gals from the Chicago scene. Stay tuned for details on Shay. Well that's it for now kids. In our next issue Boi will welcome its new music editor Peter Maverick. He is talented and has a fun writing style so stay tuned!

On the heels of #1 smash "Fake" comes Simply Red's remake of the Stylistics classic "You Make Me Feel Brand New". Red takes a more trance feel with remixes by Antilles and Love 2 Infinity. The Infinity mixes are energy that accentuate Red's perfection of the classic lyrics this song holds. Prediction: another #1 smash in the making. - Chris Eterno

Following up her top 10 smash "So Beautiful" is Donna Summer's new track "I Will Live For Love" on Universal. Chris Cox's mix rings true Thunderpuss anthem with a driving dancefloor flare that works perfectly with Donna's ageless voice. Uplifting and lyrically beautiful, this track will soon be rocking dancefloors across the city. - Chris Eterno

Kristine W shows her spiritual side after her recent bout with cancer, delivering uplifting vocals in "Save My Soul" (Tommy Boy). Mike Cruz and Gabriel & Dresden give proper treatment to the track and Junior Vasquez' mix will fill the dance floor with hands up reaching for the heavens above! - Greg Drescher

Manny Lehman's latest compilation, aptly named "Bangin' 02", is the second in a series of progressive beats from Tommy Boy. Manny delivers plenty of anthems to satisfy the masses, including Ralphi's mix of "Fly Again" by Kristine W, "Shining" by Double Dee and "Just About Had Enough" by Beat Hustlerz, and his progressive side comes out strong in tracks by Murk, Superchumbo and Orange Factory. Bang those drums! - Greg Drescher
